David is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been in the field of counseling for over twenty years. He has served clients in a variety of therapeutic settings, including wilderness-based therapy, in-home therapy, a juvenile detention center, a group home for adjudicated youth, and most recently, has had the honor of working alongside Dr. Curt Thompson and the dedicated staff of New Story Behavioral Health.

David is an alumnus of Houghton College and earned his Masters Degree in Human Development from Virginia Tech. David believes the work of better understanding our own stories, and the ways in which we have been impacted by trauma, is nothing short of a heroic act. He also believes in a loving God who desires to see us restored to health, fullness, and a renewed sense of identity and purpose. He views his professional work as “co-laboring” with God to that end.
